Owning a home was once a cornerstone of the Great Australian Dream however thanks to skyrocketing property prices in many parts of the country, the dream is starting to take a different shape for some buyers: rentvesting.

Instead of buying the property they want, rentvestors keep renting in the area they want to live in but buy a property in a more affordable area as an investment somewhere else as an entry point to the property market. They may never live in this property but they own a property and they are paying it off with the rent they receive. For some Australians it’s the best option to enter the property market.
